screen

Lens Magazine is a Vanderbilt science magazine that provides articles and stories relevant to the medical industry.

Challenge Summary

Client asked SBResults, LLC to assist in transitioning Lens Magazine from a print only format to a “web-based” format.  This transition would allow Lens Magazine greater flexibility in breaking news stories and extend the existing media to a global market. Additionally, Lens Magazine would be able to cut cost by delivering stories and information to readers via the web as opposed to mailing magazines.

Specific Challenges

  • Provide the editor and writers with a shared, secure environment to submit news and articles
  • Provide an article tracking system with a publisher’s galley
  • Provide for multiple writers working within a single web-based environment
  • Cut cost of publication by requiring less labor and printing

Solution

SBResults, LLC recommended that Len’s Magazine use SBResults, LLC proprietary Publication Editorial Application. This application features:

  • role-based security that allows the “senior” editor authority to assign contributor levels
  • a rich content management workflow system tailored specifically for the needs of Lens Magazine’s editorial process
